People often think a handmade skincare business is all about making products. In reality, a large part of our day is spent answering questions - about ingredients, skincare concerns, hair care, customisation, and everything in between.

Some questions come up so often that we thought it would be useful to answer them in one place.

Here are some of the questions customers have asked us over the years.

Can Soaps Be Customised?

Absolutely.

There are two ways we can customise soaps:

1. Fully Customised Soaps

These are made from scratch and can be tailored to your preferences. You can choose:

• Ingredients

• Colours

• Essential oils

• Botanicals and add-ons

• Shapes and designs

Because these soaps are freshly made and require proper curing, the minimum order quantity is 10 pieces and the lead time is usually 4-6 weeks.

2. Name Embossing

If you would simply like names embossed onto our existing soaps, that can be done too.

There is no minimum order quantity for embossing names, making it a lovely option for gifts, wedding favours, return gifts, and special occasions.

How Can I Place an Order?

Many customers prefer WhatsApp because it allows them to ask questions before purchasing, while others enjoy browsing products at their own pace on the website.

Can I Get the Rosemary & Peppermint Hair Oil in a Bigger Size?

Yes.

While our standard size works well for most people, we can occasionally prepare larger bottles on request.

Customisation is also possible.

For example, one customer mentioned that the peppermint content felt a little too relaxing and made her sleepy during the day. In her case, we reduced the peppermint content.

One of the advantages of small-batch production is the flexibility to accommodate individual preferences whenever possible.

What Is the Best Product for Hand Wrinkles?

Wrinkles are a natural part of ageing, and no topical product can completely remove them.

However, keeping the skin deeply moisturised can significantly improve how the skin looks and feels.

Our Vanilla Body Butter is rich in nourishing oils and butters that help soften dry skin and improve overall texture. While it won't erase wrinkles, consistent use can help hands feel smoother, softer, and more comfortable.

One thing many people overlook is sunscreen.

The backs of our hands receive a great deal of sun exposure, and UV damage is one of the biggest contributors to premature ageing, pigmentation, and wrinkles.

When it comes to skin health, consistency matters far more than quantity.

I'm Experiencing Hair Fall and Breakage. Can Hair Oil Help?

Hair oils can support scalp health, but they are not an instant cure for hair fall.

Certain ingredients, such as rosemary oil, have some evidence supporting their use for hair growth when used consistently. Oils can also help reduce dryness, improve scalp condition, and minimise breakage.

However, significant or persistent hair fall often has deeper causes, including:

• Iron deficiency

• Thyroid issues

• Stress

• Hormonal imbalances

• Nutritional deficiencies

A good hair oil can be a helpful part of a routine, but it should not replace medical evaluation when hair fall becomes excessive.

Think of hair oil as support, not a miracle solution.

Do You Make a Soap That Removes Tanning?

This is another very common question.

The honest answer is that there is no soap that can safely and instantly remove tanning.

Tanning develops because the skin produces more melanin in response to sun exposure. A soap simply doesn't remain on the skin long enough to reverse that process.

What can help is:

• Gentle exfoliation

• Consistent sun protection

• Maintaining a healthy skin barrier

Over time, these habits may help the skin appear brighter and more even-toned.

Skincare is usually about patience rather than quick fixes.

Can Your Soaps Be Used on the Face?

This depends on both the soap and your skin.

Our handmade soaps are generally formulated to be gentler than many commercial cleansing bars. However, facial skin is different from body skin and often has different needs.

Some people happily use handmade soap on their face without any issues, while others - particularly those with very dry, sensitive, acne-prone, or compromised skin - may prefer a dedicated facial cleanser.

If you're unsure, it's always best to tell us a little about your skin type first so we can guide you appropriately.

Why Does Handmade Soap Sweat?

This is probably one of the most common questions we receive during the monsoon.

Customers sometimes notice tiny droplets appearing on the surface of their soap and immediately worry that it has gone bad.

Thankfully, that's usually not the case.

Handmade soap naturally contains glycerine, a humectant that attracts moisture from the surrounding environment. During humid weather, especially in places like Mumbai, glycerine pulls moisture from the air, which can then appear as tiny droplets on the surface of the soap.

This phenomenon is commonly known as soap sweating.

While it may look unusual, it is completely normal and does not mean the soap is spoiled or unsafe to use.

In fact, the same glycerine responsible for the sweating is one of the reasons many handmade soaps feel gentler and less stripping on the skin.

If your soap starts sweating, simply wipe away the moisture with a clean cloth or use the soap as usual. Its cleansing ability remains unchanged.

Sometimes what looks like a flaw is simply a sign that a product is behaving exactly as it should.
